One time, I had received a scam text claiming to be from the DMV that said I had an unpaid ticket and they threatened some fake legal action if I didn’t pay it. They asked me to click on a link. I recognized it was a scam because I was never a driver at the time and I deleted the text.

Some ways people can recognize text scams are if they ask for personal or financial information, they threaten urgent sounding legal action, they give you suspicious links, or they offer you something too good to be true.

I got the same email before. Too many scams sent as normal text messages.

Yup, watch out for those phishing emails or texts, and be careful about following links or downloading attachments, especially when you’re not expecting them. Verify sender’s address and check links before clicking on them.

You are correct. We should be careful about clicking on links from emails and texts.

These scam emails are annoying and sometimes dangerous. Especially the ones that try to get some money out of you.

Also watch out for job scams. You may get an email telling you that you got a job interview offer from a recruiter and ask you to fill out personal information to apply. Or ask you to pay a fee to apply.

I will be careful for that. Thank you.
